  • Save Some $$$: Tax Free Weekends for 2009

    It's that time of the year for different states to have their tax free weekends. Just like it sounds, these weekends are a chance to stock up on clothes and other items without paying sales tax. 

    Here's the list:

    • Alabama's is having their Tax Free Weekend from Aug. 7-9, 2009.
    • Connecticut's Tax Free Week it is from Aug. 15-22, 2009
    • Georgia's is having their Tax Free Weekend from July 3, 2009 - Aug. 2, 2009.
    • Iowa's Tax Free Weekend is going to take place from Aug. 7-8, 2009
    • Louisiana's 2009 Sales Tax Holiday is going to take place from August 7-8, 2009.
    • Mississippi's Tax Free Weekend will take place from July 31-Aug. 1, 2009
    • Missouri's Tax Free Weekend will take place from Aug. 7-9, 2009
    • New Mexico's Tax Free Weekend takes place from Aug. 7-9, 2009.
    • North Carolina's Tax Free Weekend will be from Aug. 7-9, 2009
    • Oklahoma's Tax Free Weekend will be from August 7-9, 2009
    • South Carolina's Tax Free Weekend will be from Aug. 7-9, 2009.
    • Tennessee's Tax Free Weekend will be from Aug. 7-9, 2009
    • Texas's Tax Free Weekend is going to take place from Aug. 21-23, 2009.
    • Virginia's Tax Free Weekend is going to take place from Aug. 7-9, 2009
    • Washington D.C.'s Tax Free Week, yes WEEK is from Aug. 1-9, and then again from Nov. 27-Dec. 6, 2009.

    New York State allows shoppers to be exempt from the 4% state sales tax 365 days per year on clothing and shoes under $110.
