  • California Dad Sells Baby for $25

I've been approached on the Subway by kids selling candy bars for their school basketball team, and pursued after by street vendors aggrandizing their cheap merchandise, but never in my 20 years of experience as a consumer have I ever been sold a...baby.

Unlike myself however, one couple was.

A couple was offered a six month year old child for a killer price of $25 outside a California Walmart last week. Originally assuming that the seller (A.K.A. father) of the baby was kidding around, the couple laughed off the exchange and carried on, but after the dealer became insistent that the couple foster the child, they reported the ordeal to the police. The baby's father was arrested a few hours after he posed his brilliant trade-off, but my unease after hearing about this unorthodox business deal remains free from the confines of a department holding cell.

    HUH?

What was he thinking? Rephrased: Was he thinking???

Next time you consider buying a scarf from the local street fair, you may want to check for a sleeping infant wrapped inside.

Apparently nothing stands between a man and money.

    Wow.

How do you think this father should be punished for trying to sell his child? Have you heard of other unfathomable extremes people have gone to for money?
