Are You A Shopoholic?
There's a good reason I avoid going to malls or department stores too much. The reason is once I start, I can't stop. I'm kind of a shopping addict, but I've found that the best way to control it is to just avoid temptation. I'd be screwed if I worked anywhere near the mall though.

I like to shop for beauty products...Even though I hardly ever wear makeup...
It's like I'm buying stuff to make me more attractive even though I never wear it."Retail Therapy" is the most common thing I've heard. It brings joy to treat one's self. I shop because I feel a sense of contentment; almost a sense of self esteem growth because I'm getting nice things.
I shop because I love new things. I'm a bit of a shopoholic when my Gran takes me shopping, because she's paying for it. When I shop though, I'm very tight with my money and barley spend.
I shop:
- out of boredorm
- when I need a pick me up
- after studying hard for exams, I need to reward myself
- for good deals

I shop because I feel fulfilled. I feel accomplished and happy. I become so freaking happy.
IDK, I'm not a healthy shopper. I see what I want, I need it. I don't practical things either. I just need to grab it.
I used to be a shopoholic. I haven't been to the mall in over a year to avoid temptation because everytime that I go, I have to buy at least one thing even if I don't see anything I like, I continue walking around until I see something, then I buy it. it did give me a quick fix and made me smile. then I began online shopping and ordered way too many things. I'd get so excited to receive packages in the mail. it was like xmas everyday. then that got the best of me and the bills started to pile up, so I had to stop. it was my escape. I don't shop anymore but I found other escapes.

I have some shopaholic habits.... I go for ages without spending money, even when going to malls, but when I do buy something, I buy a lot (and usually it's not cheap). I love fashion, but I don't go out and buy things because they're 'in'. I have my style, and sometimes the current style matches up, so I then go out and buy a lot when I can find it (now, for instance, it's super easy to find clothes with frills and bows). I also shop when I feel disappointed. I guess it's like, "Well, I didn't get what I wanted, so I'll get these shoes instead." I'm not saying every time things don't go my way, but when things I was super excited for fall through (a trip to Italy being cancelled due to a volcano, etc).

i have the uncontrollable desire to just burn cash... probably because i didn't grow up with much, but regardless, it just feels nice to have new things.

i shop because i like clothes, and i like mixing and matching. also i like to develop my style, so im not wearing the same thing every single day since my style in general in pretty monotonous (think abercrombie with a splash of urban outfitters) so if im not careful, itll all end up looking the same.
i love shopping mostly because i think its cozy, i dont get a high although i do shop a lot.

And after exams and a period of stress, I like to go shopping as a way to relax and have some fun.
@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - and wow thats crazy!!!!!!! I feel I used to feel that way about sex lol. But with shopping, I cant do online, and I cant buy something I dont like. I must like it. But thats my problem, I never throw things out, and have that "maybe" mentality, got it from my mom, shes a packrat. So am i. Im glad you got out of it. Theres alot of things to get a fix on, some just are more expensive, some healthier than others, but theyre still fixes, theyre not all bad! Right now I refuse to get an actual credit card though, Im afraid what I would do with it. Im a student, and just have two debit cards (had 3...see how well that worked out :/ ). I owe alot to a bank :( But theyre a horrible bank anyway, soooo slow at posting stuff (I should be keeping track tooo) but they make you feel like you have more money than you do. Hiding my cash is important. lol Im going to start hiding my debit cards too when I go out so I dont charge my lunch at work, or during my breaks at university. Ha. But you were an inspiration before things can get really bad!
not anymore.... I think I sort of spoiled myself until I pretty much have everything I ever wanted...
No, I'm a minimalist. Shopping is something I do when I need to.
