My Great New Product Idea...What Do You Think?!
Haha... when I consider how many students do and do not get away with texting in schools where it is forbidden... and I put together what I know from the teacher point of view and what I've seen from the student point of view... I think I'm onto something.
I could "revamp" the hollow book idea!
1. Instead of it looking like a novel that has an obvious hole in the fake pages as soon as you lift the cover, I'd include about 50 actual pages (that would probably contain an actual short story) so the hole in the book is a little more difficult to find.
2. Instead of just a hole in a book, I'd have books hollowed so that your cell phone can fit into the hole, snugly, in its open position so you can text without taking it out of the book. For example, the hollow book for a Razr would be different than the hollow book for an Envy 3.
3. The book would be built so that it muffled the sound of a vibrating phone.
4. Each book cover (and the pages of actual literature) would either be an original, never-released short story or a parody of existing books.... this is to prevent copyright issues. Think of this:
* Diary of Gimpy Kid-- the humorous adventures of a tween boy with a wooden leg.
* Marry Plotter-- the saga of a little witch who has an evil arch-eneme; Toldemorv.
* The Hardly Boys-- a group of girls who solve mysteries.
* Rancy Pew-- A teenage, female skunk detective.
* Fry-lite-- A coven of sparkly teen vampires and their lives as students and fast food employees.
* Are You There Margret? It's Me, God-- A supreme being is given advice by a preteen girl.I'd also consider branching out into books for adults; for those of you who can't text at work.
SEE YOU ON SHARK TANK!!!
What do you think? Do I have a winning idea?
Can you think of some other creative book ideas?

personally, i think your mental
yehh but if it needs to flip open.. you wouldn't be able to text. defeating the purpose? ha.
It would be easy to read the texts but what about when you're trying to type back to them? It would be too obvious that you're texting.
Classrooms are too small not to get caught by the teacher- it would be too conspicuous.
I love it! :) So fun.
My phone has a flip out keyboard, it wouldn't work with this.. plus, I could just put my phone behind my textbook instead.. Nice idea though!
That sounds like a good idea.. Only I think it encourages cheating... I mean, text messaging during class distracts from the time a student is learning in the classroom... So I think you should consider the consequences of your product idea as well--a less-intelligent next generation.

WIN.
How about you just put your damn phone away and act like you really care about learning something to better yourself for seven hours a day? Seriously, you have all evening and night to text your friends about "Ohmigosh" stuff....
@enterthelabyrinth@xanga - How about, like, I'm totally not the one texting... jeez. It was all in fun.
@redxxbracelet@xanga - Ohh, it is pretty mental, but it was mostly a fun, jokey post.
@enterthelabyrinth@xanga - It was an "all in good fun" post, clearly I'm not going to market the idea.. I'm a teacer, I'm not going to help students sneak cell phones in class.
@kiwimusume - hehe.. thanks
@T0m03@xanga - Oh, I agree with you. This was actually kind aof a joke post, based on the fact that I just had to take 2 cell phones from students yesterday. It's irritating. The only "realness" to my idea is that some desperate kids would probably buy anythign promising to help them text in school.
@xraindropsonroses@xanga - Hehe.. good point.
@SoullFire@xanga - It would be easy to be caught, but I'm just kinda goofing on the fact that most students aren't very good at sneaking it in the first place, they may as well make me rich in the process.
@GodsGirl62@xanga - Thanks! Haha..
@B1ANCACACA@xanga - Yeah, I'd have to come up with a scheme for that, wouldn't I?
@anonymiaous@xanga - Touche.. hehe.
Um, sure? Well, the idea of using a book to hide a phone while you're texting isn't a bad idea, although I don't see it being all that buyable by teachers.
@SakuraStarlight@xanga - It's not. I'm a teacher.. it wouldn't take long to catch on that the students were using them... this was pretty much just a funny thing. The only money in it would be that some kids would be desperate enough to try anything.
@phantomblogger30@xanga - So true. xD
