  • Discount Promotions are Too Good to Be True!

"There is no such thing as a free lunch" - perhaps that can be altered to say that to add the word "almost"

Case in point: the Spa Week promotion - $50 for treatments that cost hundred of dollars.

Most of the spas listed are fairly unknown, give or take. They're trying to promote their spas by signing up for this. While hidden gems may be found, many of them still aren't adequately prepared.

When I went to a spa last year during spa week, I was not totally impressed. Yes, the place was beautiful

However, they were double-booked. My friend and I had reserved in advance and we had to wait over an hour and a half. Also, while the treatments were good, they didn't feel very effective. I felt as if I'd gone to a swankier version of a nail salon spa.

This logic doesn't just apply to Spa Week. Car deals usually eat one up in interest and one ends up paying more. Even with clothes on sale; you end up spending more because it is cheaper. Thus, while it feels that you're saving, you're really using money.

Do you think discount promotions are too good to be true?
