Would You Buy Used Clothes Online?
I very recently became aware of web sites in which people buy and sell used clothes. There are a lot of advantages to doing this. For example, you can make some money and reduce the clutter in your closet. Also, although I'm sure it varies depending on the clothes you want to sell, you can probably get more from these sites than consignment shops. For one thing, the shops, especially Plato's Closet, tend to be very picky about what they take. Also, as with anything, the internet allows for a much bigger market with many more buyers.
Some of the sites, such as Sizeexchange.com, are geared towards people who have lost weight and can't wear their clothes. As a result, some might be new or only worn a few times. But it's a risk even buying new clothes online because you can't really see them or try them on. Are you more skeptical of buying used clothes online than new?

The only used clothing I've ever bought online was an old vintage jacket which was only worn once or twice. And I got it dry-cleaned because I'm a germ/neat freak.
Stuff like used shoes or even underwear (which you CAN buy used online) is a big no-no though
I dont see the problem with it. Just wash it good or dry clean it if it's dry clean only. I just worry that you wont be able to smell it first. I mean the thing with used clothing is something I call "permastank". Meaning the STANK smell wont ever come out. When I made a post on thrift stores once, I mentioned that & got some helpful hints on shopping there now. Some stores dont wash them & I think it's tacky when people give away dirty clothes. I went to Good Will once & the clothing room was so bad, the attendant was walking around spraying fabreeze. I hauled ass out of there!
I ALWAYS wash & dry mine before I give them away.
This is such a good idea! I had never heard of anything like this. I love going thrift shopping. I'd say about half of my wardrobe is second-hand.
Im not sure how i feel about this. On one hand i think it's disgusting wearing old clothes from people you don't know. Then again, on the other i realize that we are wear our friend's clothes and sometime we pass down our clothes ...so i guess it's not knowing where it comes from freaks me out. Im just used to donating my clothes...i don't think i will ever buy a second hand attire, then again its just me.
Yeah, I bought used clothes on Ebay several times. Never had a bad experience.
I really liked this brand of jeans, but it got discontinued. Someone was selling a pair on eBay for $5 and I was seriously considering buying it, but my mom wouldn't let me. -.-
Mmm.... I take it like hand-me-downs. Expect it to be worn, but not awful that you can't go outside with them.
What's wrong with purchasing from thrift and vintage shops? Sometimes you can score an awesome deal and wear something no one has. But always clean first, and make sure there are no holes and whatnot.
