Where Does Your Money Go?
This pie chart from Visual Economics breaks down how an average family spends their paycheck based on data collected by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Remember, these numbers represent an average of the data collect from across the country, so there are likely to be significant margins on either end.
But how do you fit with the chart?

We don't fit that chart very well at all but then we are far from being the typical family.
Cut out reading, entertainment, alcohol, tobacco... cut health care (Canadian, covered by government as well as private insurance; we pay a very small fee for some pharmaceuticals but very rarely), add some to insurance since we have 3 vehicles and my insurance is high since I'm under 25.
Long story short, we don't fit all that well, aha.
my money goes to my bank account, and if it's spent, the vast vast majority of it is on food. a little bit on clothes.
i'm still mostly dependent on my parents for housing, transportation, that sort of thing
This is pretty accurate for me too. But my food chunk is infinitely smaller cuz I get free or discounted food from work
