The Associated Press recently released an
article full of advice on holiday shopping, and many of the items dealt with frugal-friendly resources available online.
My favorite is
RetailMeNot.com, a website that keeps track of tons of shopping coupons, which you can browse by retailer or item type (like shoes, jewelry).
Users can also comment on coupons, so you can read up on whether that hot deal goes through flawlessly, only works online, applies to select items, is a scam, etc. RetailMeNot also has a page loaded with
shopping tips, and a
Twitter.
Two other useful sites are
PriceSpider.com and
Price Protectr, which allow you to monitor the prices of items before and after you buy them. Price changes are important even when your purchase is completed, as many retailers will give you a refund if an item goes on sale after you buy it—you just need to know to ask. Both sites offer email alerts to keep you in the loop.
What websites help you hunt for bargains? Have you ever gotten a refund for an item that went on sale after you bought it?
