  • EU Announces Exit From Recession

On November 14th, the European Union has announced that they're finally out of the recession hole.

According to Eurostat, a the statistical office of the European communities reported that EU's GDP has increased by 0.4% in the 16 EU block, and by 0.2% in the 27-nation EU block during the third quarter of 2009. The United Kingdom is another story. As British GDP continues to shrink, the rest of Europe getting back on its feet (except Spain).

Eurostat figures showed that unemployment in Europe is still high. The jobless rate overall rose to 9.7 percent in September, the highest in 20 years.

This is wonderful news for the European Union, however, Spain and U.K are still in the shadows of the recession monster.

I've noticed over the summer that many of the vacation packages in anywhere in the EU was relatively inexpensive, may be those getaway packages did pay off after all.

What spurred the EU to get out of the recession? Do you think can get the US out of the recession?
