More and more hotel rooms have becoming more vacant due to people vacationing less to save. An article from
MSN has reported the revenue from hotels has been at it's lowest in 22 years.
Hotel managers have becoming more creative giving out "unique" ideas for customers for their stay, such as giving away a motorcycle ride during their stay or even driving a posh Porsche for a day. Although, most of these offers are only been given away in Las Vegas.
Although, these deals may be fun for visitors in Vegas, what about other cities? I haven't seen a good hotel deal for a long time, not even less popular cities in the US. Perhaps, Vegas is the only city that can get away with these crazy deals, but other hotels should step up their games soon.
How about offering some free nights and maybe 3 course meals during the entire day? Nothing attracts people than free things and food.
What is the best deal you have received for a hotel?

52 which included tax in upstate new york. it was quaint but it had an amazing view :]
My parents own a small [franchise] motel. We haven't had a lot of business in forever! We used to be packed every holiday season, and now, things are slow as hell. When we have walk-in customers (as opposed to reservations), my parents lower the rate for them. We already offer 7-day maid service (some places take the weekends off!), a range of breakfast items, and if you book through our franchise site, you can earn free nights. I don't really know anything more that can boost our business. It sucks, really.
hotels are way overpriced. nonetheless, the new added benefits are good.
