Is your college on that list? Would you still go to those colleges if you had to pay for that much?

My college isn't on that list. I spent my first two years at a private Christian college --- tuition for two years was roughly 40,000. Yay for scholarships and parents because I didn't have to pay for any of it. Now hopefully I can do that for my son when he's old enough to go to college!
If I really wanted to go somewhere I'd figure it out, high tuition or not.
Heck no!!!!
boston university is 50000...
@XxFireXboltxX@xanga - I think they only counted public schools because I go to Loyola University Chicago and it's $40,000 dollars and not on this list.
i go to a college that expensive...loans, loans, loans..and it's on both lists.
@shes_lump@xanga - there's private schools on there though.
Hells no. One of the reasons I went to my school is because it was so cheap compared to my first choice school. Round it to about 12,000 /year
Without a scholarship, these are unaffordable to the majority of non "rich" folks. One could take out loans, but you better be in a money making major if you're willing to graduate with 6 figure debt.
Haha, I'm going to community college for my first two years (my semesters each cost about 700$ plus books). All the classes I'm taking will transfer to my university of choice which is about 7000$ per semester. Definitely not as much as the colleges listed.
holy crap. lol >.<"!
@shes_lump@xanga - Loyola is 28,000 a year for tuition. if you are including housing then sure, it's more. but they are just doing tuition.
Mm...the dreaded expensive college list. Let me tell you, even if you're college isn't counted as "expensive", it can still be a pain to pay for! I didn't go back for my second year because my parents couldn't afford the tuition alone...and that was just for one semester! And I was supposedly going to a less-expensive public school! So when I pay off what I owe, I'll be heading over to the local community college down the street...should have thought of this before now, but you live and you learn...

"Tuition and room and board at Boston University will rise 3.75 percent,
to $49,758, in the 2009-2010 academic year, BU President Robert A.
Brown announced last week. The change represents the University’s
lowest percentage increase in tuition in 40 years, Brown said, and
reflects the administration’s effort to respond to increased financial
need while maintaining the quality of programs."

I didn't really believe it initially. I sure hope they are at least passing out macbooks and kobe beef out with their programs. :/
Woah, I feel like a cheapo compared to all of this. My university is roughly $5000 per year. That's without housing and a meal plan, which I've never gotten. And that is with the price increase this year.
I am surprise NYU is not on the list...that school is freakin expensive!!!
cmu </3
ah well. i'm hoping to go to UCSD after community college. stuff like this makes me glad i'm going to a CC first.
@Trigger821@xanga - this list is for tuition, there's another list of full costs and NYU is 2nd XD
waw, i'm glad i live in canada and not US... You guys should do a post on cheapest secondary education around the world... for example Ireland is free and if you're an international student in France, you get to pay less than the natives ^ ^
haha i am currently at carnegie mellon
give me a list of cheap colleges so i can send my kids there.
Buy your own books! Those piece of papers you receive when you graduate from college, the only thing they are good for anymore are lining your bird cage! True education is SELF TAUGHT!
Though these school are expensive, I know that many are very generous with financial aid. Something like if you make under 40-50k then you don't have to pay anything. But I think it's mostly Ivy League or top Liberal Arts colleges.
woowwww i know a lot of people going to those schools. hahaha
and those can't be all that you pay... because American University is about 50k if you add everything up, including room and board and other fees.
@febtin2@xanga - umass. hahaha
Um, my tuition is only about $4,000 a semester. And I go to a pretty nice school.
Ohmigoodness, I just decided to apply at George Washington...Yikes!
my school is very expensive, i go to a private college in jersey, its 37,000 in full, since i room there, and rising. this is my last year thankfully but i have 100,000 worth of debt to look forward to when i graduate. its probably the biggest mistake i ever made, and my major...journalism...
there's a bounty on my head and its terrifying
