Useless Products I Won't Spend One Cent On!
On my flight home from Los Angeles to New York, I was bored enough to go through the free magazines made by American Airlines. The Sky Mall magazine caught my eye as I began to browse through pages of products available for purchase through the company. I could even get an American Airlines credit card and buy lots of useless crap I would probably not spend a single penny on! Not only were there lots of things I would find no use for, but it was EXTREMELY overpriced. I took note of my Top 3 things that were useless and expensive!
Soda Maker Kit: "Make soda. Save money. Clean planet. Repeat daily. Introducing the SodaStream home soda maker. Turn water into fresh, fizzy sparkling water or soda at the touch of a button. In less than 30 seconds, your water becomes great-tasting soda,
customized to your preferred fizz and flavor level, with no clean-up, for about 20 cents per can. Regular flavors are made without
high-fructose corn syrups, and diet flavors are sweetener without aspartame. No more lugging bottles and cans of soda back from the store, or stockpiling cases in your garage or pantry. Best of all, no more empty
bottles to recycle or discard, so you'll be doing your self - and the planet - a giant favor.Lets see. In my personal opinion, first of all, I hardly drink soda. Obviously this is no use for me. Second of all, although it is interesting to make my own
flavors, how many times could you possibly make soda? Lastly, I don't think soda bottles or cans are THAT heavy that I'd need my own soda machine
that would take up a huge chunk of my already cluttered kitchen.Price: $129.99. Or 129 bottles of water at my local subway station.
The ExerSwim Portable Swim Current Generator is a portable swim current generator, designed for meaningful exercise. You get a powerful
aquatic workout when you swim against the current. And you can swim against a smooth, strong, wide current in the privacy of your own
pool! Purchase your ExerSwim Portable Swim Current Generator today and turn your standard pool into an endless pool!Besides the fact that I can't swim, nor do I own a pool, I find the Swim Current Generator a bad bang for your buck. I guess its kind of nifty to
swim against the current, but I can find lots of more streneous and cheaper alternatives for meaningful excercise. Couldn't you just go to your local pool
or YMCA or swim in the beautiful Ocean for free? Well, maybe not New York's ocean, I'd opt for the aquatic beauty of Hawaii's Pacfic Ocean.
Actually, save your money on the Swim Current Generator, and you can book multiple round trip flights to Hawaii and swim there!Price: $3,695-$3,995, Or what is left of one of my many student loans.
Nothing goes down smoother than an ice-cold shot of your favorite liquor. Treat yourself with this hassle-free fill-and-pour system that
virtually eliminates spills and features LED illumination for an eye-catching bottle display.Simply attach your bottle of choice and let the liquor drop to a temperature colder than ice for a chilly -5 degree F taste sensation.
Okay, I can actually make good use of this if it wasn't so expensive. I enjoy cold shots. But you know what else I can do? Just stick a bottle of Malibu
Rum in the freezer. I just save a whole bunch of money by just using my freezer. I don't know if it is exactly -5 degrees in my freezer, but I'm sure it will
go down easy anyway.Price: $149.99 or The price of my Japanese hair straightening (Which will last 6 months!)
If you're ever on a plane, check out the in flight mall magazines. There are even more ridiculously expensive products! Do yourself a favor and save
almost $5000 by not getting these crazy items!Have you bought anything from the in flight magazines? What are some crazy expensive items you've come across?

I'll admit, the current thing seems cool, but I would never actually buy it. I wouldn't buy any of those either, I can't even imagine who would.
I read about & like the idea of the Soda maker. It will save you money & it's eco-friendly. The only thing I dont like is that the flavor packets are made with splenda & I dont like sugar substitutes. If they were made with regular sugar, I would totally save for it. I dont drink soda as much as I used to so I'll stick to my periodic buying of it.
The Chilled Shot Machine is a waste like you said. Just put the bottle in the fridge. LOL As for the Swim current, I would only invest in that if I were an avid swimmer.
These products are marketed at either really stupid people or people w/ way too much money on their hands! Sometimes, though, when I watch informercials I have to conjure every ounce of common sense in me not to pick up the phone.
I think the soda maker is pretty interesting, but I wouldn't buy it. And yes, the chilled shot machine... I mean, really? Throw the bottle in the freezer!!
ahah ofx not ! i always skip those infomercials D: they're so boring ! :D those are usually for impulse buyers :X
ROFL. The swimming pool thing is doable by making a whirlpool then going the opposite way.
i like looking at those magazines and see the ridiculous things they sell... some things could possibly be useful if they weren't so freaking expensive
Aww, we're only talking about flight magazine products? I was kinda hoping to see the Snuggie on this list.

I look at Sky Mall simply for the ridiculous-ness factor!
That reminds me of the Margaritaville from South Park.
i love reading skymall....it amuses me with overpriced products that are useless...
and I imagine what I would do if I were using doing the world's largest cross-word puzzle or making soda.....
When I was coming home from Germany, I found some pretty ridiculous stuff in the Sky Mall magazines. I think my favorite though were the conforming "butt inserts" that you could put in your jeans to make your butt look bigger.
Nonono. That's just waaaay too much money. They try to make things easier by creating all these products but money doesn't grow on trees -_-" And there's always other options than spending $1000+ !
Those products are pretty damn useless...
I love skymall, as the stuff is very awesomely useless.
Ahh..they're just fun and entertaining to look at. Hahaha.
Just because they're ridiculous to you, doesn't mean they're ridiculous to everyone. Those products are endorsed for a reason.
they just look good and so that we dont stare at a blank screen during commercials i think. but some stuff are actually good though!
