It never hurts to make some extra cash, right? Instead of always
shelling out the dough for your hobbies, you could try to make them work
for you instead. Are you crafty like me or maybe just artsy-fartsy sometimes? Have you ever considered selling any of your projects? Personally, I love making huge decorative jars of bath salts out of Epsom salt and fragrance oils. If you feel like giving it a shot and trying to sell your goods, there are a number of different avenues you can take.
You can always go the traditional way of setting up shop at local craft fairs where you arrange to have a table for your products. Or you can try hawking the goods within your various networks. Now though, there's a website that combines the aspects of these established routes to create something of a virtual craft fair. The site,
Etsy.com, is designed for people to buy and sell any number of handmade items.
One of my favorite things about this
site is the variety of categories. With categories like jewelry, housewares, woodworking and more, you can find almost anything here. So anyone who has the gift of craft, whether it comes to fashion design, candle making or even shoelace design, can make a pretty penny by selling their wares on
Etsy. Plus, the multitude of categories means that, even if you are not so crafty, you can always find a totally unique gift on Etsy.
My favorite find:

Do you have craft goods you'd be willing to sell? What are they? And what are
your favorite finds on Etsy?

I have sales going on at Etsy right now. Here for my photography, and here for my jewelry and other goods.
My favorites lists on both of my accounts are extensive. I can't pick just one or two things. However, my favorite category by far is Ceramics & Pottery. I have a bit of an obsession with functional art.
It's a good idea!
cute cup cake >v<
im an architecture student who plays the piano as a hobby and after work i play the piano. I want to be good enough to be able to play at a piano bar. that would be awesome!
etsy is great, and i even sell there too.
you should note that on etsy you're actually starting a business that can be taxed, so if you do start selling there, please keep good notes about buying materials and selling and all the fees so you can delcare them on your taxes. ^_^
hummm...that's something interesting to try...i like making jewlery and used to sell it, but i didn't have enough buyers...i will surely try this website out though =)
