It all started off as a Google search for cheap Coach purses to fuel my materialistic middle school obsession. When I came across a website that sold wholesale designer items, I decided to make it into a business: buy 5 purses, sell 4, and make lots of profit. The site offered the cutest coach bags at rates as low as $30 each, even when they sold for over $200 a piece on eBay.
I emailed the owner with questions about the authenticity, exact measurements and condition of the bags, and I gained confidence with each response. They were the perfect size, brand new with tags, and most importantly...authentic.
After dropping over $300 and impatiently waiting for the package, I put them on eBay right away. The bags reeked with a foreign factory scent, and they were stiffer than any coach bag I'd ever touched, but I optimistically labeled them as "authentic." Within 24 hours, all of my listings had been removed for copyright violations. (I still have a bags left over if anyone's interested, by the way).
Even though I had a feeling that the site was too good to be true, I trusted the sketchy Chinese trader as a good source. If it is possible, I'd
love to report this scam artist.
Have you ever been scammed or taken advantage of online? What did you do to resolve the issue?

Your mistake was trying to resell them on ebay(obviously). It's one thing to buy fake goods to use for your own good but to try and resell them on ebay is a no-no.
Yeah, ebay is good at catching scams. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
My way of catching scams on Ebay/CL: if it sounds too good to be true, it's a scam. Quite easy.
Yea. Ppl lie. It's like going into the back room in Chinatown. You really won't know if it's fake unless you know how to spot them, and sadly, you were lied to. At $30 a pop, it's very unlikely it's true.
You trusted someone you labeled as sketchy? Hmm... Well I can make it all better for you. My client is of Nigerian royalty and he has recently fallen on to hard times...
lol
I was expecting a post related to something like ivory or opium, not Coach purses.
Seriously I dunno who falls for these things. They sell them here in HK (@ certain places) and they're all fake purses Miu Miu, Coach, Prada ALL FAKE for like $30 HKD which is like $4 USD. You paid $30 each so u got ripped off dude. If something is too good to be true well my friend that's because IT IS.
Yeah I ended up with a FAKE coach wallet grrrrrr
