  • Do You Have a Special Moneybox When Saving Up For Something?

I bought a money box a few weeks ago. Both me and my mum have being looking for this type of money box for a while, where the only way to open it is to use either a can opener or some other tool.

I am using my money box for spending money for next year's summer holiday to Cuba, our first holiday choice in August.

I have a smaller money box which I am using to save for Christmas presents or something else nice for December 2010.

I think this is a great way to save money.  What about you?

Do you own a money box or piggy bank? When do you break open the box?

... I have a piggybank for change, so then when I cash all the change for that year, I can buy something special for myself. :] But now that I think about it, I should put that money for a trip I'm thinking about taking to maryland.

My brother (12 y.o.) and I (18) are saving up to buy a house one day. We put in minimum 10$ a month each only, but it will add up. We will break it and put it in the bank after one year, where it will collect interest.

I have a special envelope in which I keep my 'special' purchase items. I am saving up for a laptop computer out of the $100 monthly allowance my wife allows me to have. I have saved up over $700 and think I will need $1200 to get a good one with the extended warranty.

I am saving for a house but I keep the money is a special account at my bank. We have a "family bank" at home that everyone tosses change in but it is not for any real purpose except to keep out pockets from rattling.

I have one of those coin counting jars, and when it is full to the brim and I can't fit any more into it, then I will cash it in and put 1/2 in my savings, and then buy something I want at the time with the rest of it.

I have a money counting jar for change. I don't usually do anything with it cauz if I take any out then it won't say the right amount on it. Then I will have to reput in all the change again to see how much I have. When it gets full I either cash it in or put it in my savings for emergencies.

And I also try different ways to gain more money in my spare time ....
