Are You More Frugal Than Your Parents, it made me think about how much money we spend on our parents. Over the years and especially now that I am a poor college student, my parents have always helped me out. I hope when I find financial stability, I can support them and help them out when I can.
Sometimes if I see a nice lip gloss in my mom's favorite flavor, I'll pick it up for her just because. Even though I may not be able to buy something for my mom randomly, I will help by stretching my dollar more so I don't have to ask her for money. When it comes to birthdays and holidays, even though I'd love to spend so much money on something great, I'll try to find something more meaningful in to her, in respect to value.
Do you spend a lot of money on your parents? Do you go out of your way to spoil them if you can?

I definitely do spoil my parents, my mom especially. I felt like they gave up a lot for me when I was growing up, so once I started working I wanted to return the favor a bit. It just happened that they hit a financial rough spot at the same time, so in addition to the random presents, I help them out with the essentials that I can.
i try to help out my mom when i'm at home. she has a lot of little health problems that build up to affect the quality of her life, e.g. short term memory loss, erratic driving, and so on. so i do grocery shopping for her and i drive whenever possible. i can't help her much financially right now, but she doesn't really need financial help.
ONE of my parents is DEAD. The other is a PUNK ASSHOLE and I don't talk to him ANYMORE.
