Whenever I go to the Supermarket, I always make sure to do my shopping on a very full stomach. Often there have been many times when I go there starving and I'll tell myself "Buy the food first, save money and make it yourself at home", rather than picking up a quick slice of pizza. This mentality has proven wrong time and time again. I'll be throwing everything I'm in the mood for into my cart and spending twice as much as I expected. My suggestion is if you are hungry, grab a quick snack before you head out the door. Also, I'll make a generic list of foods I always need so I can stick to the basics.
Do you tend to spend more when you go food shopping on an empty stomach? How do you stick to your budget at the supermarket?

Hey, someone bought that whole store.
I always spend more if I don't eat first. Everything tends to look good. I usually get more processed foods on an empty stomach.
I never go shopping hungry but I've seen my mom do it... it's scaaary.
