You've probably heard about the recent MTA train fair hike in NYC. Well the fare hike has been extremely annoying and is going to cost New Yorkers more money to get someplace without any major improvements in the subway system. To save money for my monthly Metrocard, I decided to hit up Craigslist to see if anyone was offering cheap monthly Metrocards. To my surprise more than a few people were. I emailed 5 people about their monthly metrocard and two got back to me. One of them offered me her second card, one she gets from hercompany for $65. I jumped on it considering the monthly metros go for $89 now.
The second bargain I came across in the past few days came during my midnight trip to the Apple store to get my keyboard replaced. I was planning to replace my lost ear phones with a new in ear apple pair but just before making the purchase I decided to check
Amazon.com on my iPhone to see if there were cheaper options. I found the same exact pair for $35 dollars less from a 3rd party seller. I've never been big on bargain hunting, or looking at various sites for the cheapest prices but sometimes it's necessary.
How often do you go through different sites to get the cheapest prices? Do you do the same at retail shops?

I always check out different sites for the cheapest price. At retail stores, not so much. That's why I always save my receipts so you can always return it :)
Careful with Apple headphones from 3rd person parties, I got ripped before for some fake asian knock offs, not too mention the 3 fake ipod minis i bought on ebay...
