  • Do you feel Buyer's Remorse?

I regret buying a lot of things.  Sometimes it's clothes, other times its gadgets ( I love gadgets).  When it's expensive things like gadgets, I use it for a few hours, I get bored and want to return it or want the updated version in a few weeks.

Usually I end up putting them on eBay or Craigslist but still lose some money in the process ( 20 or 30 dollar loss).  Most times I don't mind but nowadays, almost everything counts.

I'm doing my best to reevaluate before buying anything but old habits are hard to break.  The last gadget I regret buying was a Creative Vado HD handheld video camera. I've used it but not enough, even though I got a really good deal on it.

What was the last thing you bought that you shouldn't have?

A broken lawn mower at a yard sale.  The guy said all it needed was new spark plugs, so I got it for $20 and it turned out to be a better boat anchor than lawn mower.  We put it in the front yard with a free sign and it was off our hands in about 20 minutes!!  It is someone else's problem now!!

I bought this bomber jacket at a yard sale. The zipper doesn't works after 2 tries and I found some old chewed gum in one of the pockets. I ditched the rag after that.

I get buyers remorse when I buy expensive items (i.e. cameras and GPS systems) and then either lose them or have them stolen.

I actually haven't bought anything I've regretted in quite a while. I used to all the time, but then I decided that I needed to start thinking things through more before buying. Basically, if I see something I really want, I'll wait a week or two and then go back to the store. If I still want it, then maybe I'll consider buying it, but usually, the impulsive feeling is gone by then. Works pretty well for me!
