Finding a Job is Like Dating?
I've heard people say, finding a job is like dating, take a lot of time to look and be patient when you don't find the right one.
I've never really looked at it that way but it does make some sense.

I can't agree more. I've been searching since December.
agreed, i never thought of it like that xP
I agree. I keep searching, it's hard to land a job.
@mycontinuity@xanga - To some extent...dating is easier. But dating complicated men....yea...not so easy.
hmm I actually think finding a guy worth being with is harder than finding a job. But that's just me... I've never really had that great of luck with being in a long-lasting relationship lol.
@mycontinuity@xanga - What kind of job are you looking for?
yes
yes it is but dating is more fun lol
TRUE, but you don't get paid when you find the "right one".
Quite true. And people often focus more on the one than the other. Not to mention that we never really receive any training on how to do either one right...people tend to take a rather random approach to both, letting the current make their choices for them instead of actively and methodically taking the time and putting in the hard effort. The risks and rewards are thus quite predictable, as are the results.
It really is! And interviews are just like dates. :)
Then I am too old because all the hawt dates are getting picked up by kids aged 15-24, and yet I'm too old because the other hot dates (not as hawt), are being taken by the elderly.
There's no middle ground, unless I wanna settle for the guy whose in the corner, that nobody wants to date, cause he's greasy, makes annoying beeping sounds that give you a headache, and going into that relationship, while I'm sure you'd make a great group of friends and gain experience, you could very likely loose a huge part of yourself and get stuck in that relationship, never knowing what else is out there. Ya know, the guy/girl you realize you've settled for, because you start to think with all this rejection, you can do no better.
indeed.
I am still searching hard, sending out those spec letter to various companies each day.
To me, dating is harder than finding a job
I never thought about that, too. Of course some jobs you have to sacrifice to get, and sometimes, you have to wonder if it is worth it. Just like a dating.
The eharmoney of jobs is a site called www.Realmatch.com - saw it on the the news the other day.
I agree with this >.>
It makes sense, lol. =)
