I don't really like Starbucks. I only get some sandwiches from them only because I have a gift card. Their coffee is overpriced and they come out very, very bitter. Whereas, I can go to my school's mezzanine and get a nice 16oz hazelnut blend for just a dollar.

I agree that Starbucks should just lower their prices and that will be more recession friendly, though I wouldn't really still buy coffee from them. :P

Prior to this offering, it would cost roughly $3 for a breakfast sandwich and $3 tall-sized for a latte.  So yeah, I'd say it's a good
deal to try and keep customers are Starbuck's and not McDonald's.

I like going to Starbuck's.  It's one of those places I can go to relax, study, do my bills and balance my check book without feeling rushed or hounded.  The baristra's at the local shops are very kind and helpful.  Before, I didn't worry about the price of a frap, want one? get one!, I love them enough to cut other things to get one.

Living in the land of Starbuck's and Tulley's and the like, you can see how hard the coffee shops are hit.  Lots of shops closing.  Espresso's is a status thing, kinda like the cigarettes.  It's cool to have one or two... than you're addicted.  Only those who can break the habit wins in this recession.

I wouldn't eat the food at starbucks. It just sits out all day. yeck. The drinks I don't want to know about because the fraps are my fave!

If they do a breakfast value meal, I'm totally going for it! I love their breakfast options, and breakfast + latte = awesome!

This is why I ask for starbucks gift cards for Christmas every year.

starbucks consumers are paying for the image and psychological belief/self-manipulation that the coffee tastes that much better, but surveys, where people test-taste various coffee brands in plain unmarked cups, often have people picking folgers coffee as the best taste versus the big store chain overrated & overpriced brands.

Every type of food at Starbucks is expensive! I doubt that the "value meals" will actually be significantly cheaper.

Starbucks coffee, I have found, is usually worse than the local espresso stands dotted about town. As well, it's also much more expensive. Buy local, people!

$3.95 is too much. with sales tax in CA, it's almost $5. unless, it's a cup of coffee with the regular size breakfast sandwich. (and i don't think that would include an espresso-based drink too...) :T
