Is Betting On Super Bowl Sunday A Waste Of Money?
Super Bowl Sunday is coming up. This means getting great deals on pizza, chomping down on chicken wings, staring incredulously at the leftover beer and soda bottles littering your home, and releasing a whole lot of rowdy exclamatory phrases.
Super Bowl is also famous for something else. Care to wager on what "that something else" is?
You got it. Betting pools. Whether it's organized in the workplace or amongst friends and relatives, the Super Bowl sets those gambling hormones a-sizzling.
I remember one of my friend's father was really into the Super Bowl betting scene. He used to bet thousands just for fun. It always boggled my mind.
That's a lot of money, money could have gone to help a struggling individual but I guess it was his money to spend as he so desires.
However, I myself have never bet (being pretty much jobless ensures that).
Overall, Super Bowl bets range from fun, easygoing ones to pretty wild ones. I don't personally understand the point of them but I figure there must be some sort of appeal in it since Super Bowl betting is highly popular.
Out of curiosity, how many of you out there are part of a Super Bowl pool? How much are you betting? Do you do it for fun or do you take it rather seriously?

not if you win the bet ;P
i'm betting $100. admittedly its somewhat irresponsible given my financial state, but im not completely blowing my savings or anything. so it will likely screw me over come monday, but if not, then i'll have another $100 to help me get through the next few weeks financially, which could really help...
