Be honest, if you were to win the lottery would you give any money to charity? Why or why not?

Yes I got five or six charities I would give money too, depending on how much I won.
I would get each charity between £1,000 to £10,000.
I would give some to my family and relations,
I'd try to but I would have to take care of my family first and make sure I set some aside for the future of my fiance and I.
I would most deffinatly donate. Even if I won a smaller amount like $50,000 (which is a rather small prize for the lottery) I'd donate say like a $1,000 to the local homeless shelter.
i would definately ive to charity - especially since it is tax deductible - I want to someday give to my alma mater so that would be one of my first donations - maybe I could get something named after me lol!
This is actually something that I have sat down and put lots of thought in to!
(based on one million dollars) I would give half to charity. Then I would pay off our three debts (house and 2 cars), put 100,000 in savings and then use the rest to help my parents finish buliding their house and help my brother and his family get a bigger house.
Well, honestly I probably would give some amount, just because it would make me feel good about myself. But I would make sure that it went to a good charity, one that will take care of families with low income, or something like that. But most of the money I win would go on my large family... I would buy everyone what they wanted, and that would make me feel good too.
Let's just pray that I win...
I would probably keep all if not most of the money. Then I would invest it so that I could live off of the profits.
This would free up my time to give to charity instead of just money. That is so much more fulfilling to me!
Yes I would. But I would request grant applications to make sure they are legit and not scams (sadly, a lot of them are because people are greedy). I would want to donate money to a non-profit that really stands for something and has a good plan to help people.
Yes. I currently give money on a monthly basis to 3 different charities/foundations that share my passions.
My fiancee and I have given this quite a bit of thought (not that it'll ever happen, but ey, we all have dreams, right?) and we would most likely give as much as we could to charity - after looking after our family's needs, we would split what was left between us and a few of our favorite charities.
i still give to charities now even with what little income i have. if i won the lottery, a nice chunk would go to all the ones i give to currently. after of course, seeing that my family and i will be ok and a good sizable amount has been put into savings.
I would most definitely donate my money to a good cause I believe in, such as a foundation or charity. I think if I had such good karma to win the lottery, I need to share my bliss with everyone else. When I get to Heaven I'm going to be asked what I did with all that money I was given, and I'm going to reply I gave it away.
Of course I would give some to charity. Millions of people around the world are suffering in some way--a real way, like hunger or disease--while I sit at the computer most of my day.
well to be honest i would not give any money to charity ahha
Hell no I would not give money to charity.
I do NOT trust charities.
I would, however...ask what a certain charity needed. Like, if it were for research at a children's hospital I would buy equipment or things like that that they needed.
I just don't trust charities since what I found out that UNICEF did with their money...at least I know they did it that one year....anyway.
I also would rather give my time. I love volunteering. I think giving money out is a lazy person's way of looking like they care....
I always hated when teachers would try to bribe students to volunteer by saying it would look good on college applications....and I hate how other people try to get people to donate money because it's a tax deduction.
Yes
Yes, I give monthly to a couple of charities, so I'd hope to keep that going. It would probably continue on a regular basis instead of dropping a lump sum on someone, but I guess it would just depend on the need.
Yes, but it all depends on how much I would win.
I want to help others, but I'd like to make sure that my family is taken care of.
No. Winning the lottery does not actually afford you very much money unless you're smart about it.
The best thing you can do if you actually win the lottery is take out a loan for the total you would receive and then set up an account to exchange the monthly payments against the loan, so you never have to deal with it and you have the total immediately.
But honestly, I know a lot of people personally that deserve more than they have, so I'm starting there, rather than with a charity agency that I don't even trust.
Absolutely not. I'm usin' all that money for me, to be obscenely rich. Put it all in bank accounts and let my money make me money so I don't have to work another day of my life.
No. My siblings and I have college to pay for! My sister is in her senior year, I'm in my freshman year, and next fall my brother will be a freshman in college... my parents need all the help they can get financially.
if i won the lottery i've got a shit load of charities i would donate to. i would split somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of the assests i won and split it equally between all these charities.
I would give money to charity because I like to make myself feel like a better person than what I actually am.
I am a charity. But potentially, if I felt led to do so by God.
Depending on how much I win, and how much the government will likely take out from that moment, I would first allocate my money to take care of myself and my loved ones. After that I think I would cast money aside for my chosen charities.
